Can you believe it’s nearly the end of the year? I thought it was about time that I set up my bullet journal for December and start preparing for the busy season ahead. If you would like to watch me setting up these pages then my Plan with Me video can be found here.
I always like to start with a welcome page as every new month feels like a fresh chapter, a chance to review the last month and set new challenges for the month ahead.
I decided to sketch a winter snowglobe as I still have such a love for shaking them and watching the snow fall, especially as we don’t tend to get much snow where I live. I found a quote that I really liked and printed it onto vellum paper for my left page. For the colour I used Derwent watercolour pencils and a water brush.
My next two pages contain my calendar and areas to focus on during the month. I found these cute winter stickers on Etsy from Aurora’s Heart, one of my favourite shops. I always colour-code my appointments so that I can quickly see whether the events are for work, personal, home or creative projects. I have filled in a few events here, but this is what my calendar starts to look like by the end of the month.
Next up are my gratitude pages. I like to list at least 3 or 4 things every evening that I am grateful to have in my life. It can really help to lift my mood, especially if I have had a tough day.
You can see from my November pages on the right, that I also use some large lettering to record key moments throughout the month.
The final part of my monthly setup is creating my habit tracker. I use this to focus on the things that I really want to do on a regular basis, or to at least track the last time I did those things.
I think fitting in some exercise definitely needs to become a priority! I do walk the dog every day, but I know I really should be finding time to do a little more than just that. Talking of things I need to work on…as it’s nearing the end of the year I decided to start creating my 2017 review.
I will keep adding to it over the coming weeks, but I feel that I have made a good start. I always like to focus on things that went well first, to ensure that I celebrate all of the good things. The rest of it comes under Work in Progress – that feels like a positive way to look at things, rather than thinking of them as things that didn’t go well!
I hope you enjoyed seeing my setup for December. I have included links to the supplies I used down below. Don’t forget that you can check out my YouTube video here. I hope you have a wonderful December, full of spending time with the people who mean the most to you. Until next time, Helen xx
