Creative Fun - Royal Talens | Ad

I was recently given the wonderful opportunity to work with Royal Talens and try out some of their fantastic products. Royal Talens are the company behind numerous great art brands such as Sakura, Ecoline, Amsterdam, Talens, Rembrandt and more.

In today's blog post, I am sharing the projects that I created using some of their lovely art and journaling supplies. I really hope this gives you some new ideas to try out in your own journals and sketchbooks.

I started off by using the Pigma Micron Fineliners inside the Talens Sketchbook to create this floral sketch. I used a range of different size Microns for the outline and adding detail.

Next, I used the Bruynzeel coloured pencils, which come in some gorgeous shades. I finished off my pages using a brush pen from the Micron set to add a quote.

For the next project, I decided to try out some of their coloured brush pens.

The pack I used for this project was the Sakura Koi Coloring Brush Pens in the Botanical Set. They are such gorgeous colours, which go really well together.

I used each different coloured pen to letter out a line of the quote and then added some leafy branches at the top and bottom.

For the third project, I tried out a different set of their brush pens.

This time, I used the Sakura Koi Brush Pens from the Galaxy Set. I wanted to see how well they worked as a watercolour and also if the sketchbook paper held up to the water being added.

I scribbled with the pens into a mixing palette and then added a little water. They created a beautiful wash and there was hardly any wrinkling on the sketchbook paper. Perfect!

For my 4th project, I decided to get a bit messy and wild.

I started off by holding two nibs of the brush pens together, to transfer some of the ink. When I added my lettered quote, the ink blended really nicely from one colour to the next.

Then, I used the same pens to scribble on some plastic packaging. I sprayed some water on top and tapped the bag on various places over my page, to create the effect of watercolour splotches.

For my final project, I dipped my toe into the world of gel pens on black paper.

I started off by creating a simple doodle floral wreath and then I added some lettering underneath.

Sakura Gelly Roll Pens

I had such a wonderful time trying out all of these different projects and have already been adding to the sketchbooks. These are products that I know I will be using over and over again. I really hope you enjoyed this blog post and have some new ideas for creative fun that you can try out yourself.
